About Me

I grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania only about an hour northwest of Philadelphia. The picture to the right is an aerial image of the land which my family has owned since the 1800's. I traveled down to Harrisonburg to attend Eastern Mennonite University, from which I graduated in May, 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.

I am married to Christa, and we had an awesome time in Australia exploring Sydney and the northern tropics! Highlights for me were seeing Australian wildlife, experiencing a concert at the Sydney Opera House, and scuba diving and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef!

I really enjoy working with middle school students because of their curiosity and their energy for almost anything. I have enjoyed working with mathematics since elementary school, and I enjoy teaching math even more. Math has almost limitless importance in real-life situations, and I hope to explore these real-life connections with my students.

As far as hobbies go, I enjoy taking photographs, traveling, learning languages, fish keeping, and baking. Feel free to ask me about any of these topics because I love to talk about them!
