About ME

My name is Samantha Winters Kullander and I have been teaching in Harrisonburg City Public Schools for the past 10 years.  I spent one year at Thomas Harrison Middle School, and the last nine years here at Smithland.
I have a wonderful and supportive husband, an energetic 5 year old (Luke), and a lively 1 1/2 year old (Liana)!

Originally, I was born and raised in New Jersey!  However, my college education led me to Virginia.  I graudated from James Madison University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) as a Kinesiology major with a concentration in Physical and Health Education, Teacher Education.  Further, I received my Masters of the Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from JMU in 2007.  As a result, I am certified to teach physical and health education from PreK-12th grade.

I love just about anything active!  Some of my favorite physical activities include: basketball, soccer, softball, biking, running, and piyo.  I have successfully completed three half-marathons, and I will be training for my first triathalon this spring!
