Thanks for Visiting!
Welcome to back to my home page. I work with mixed grade levels here at Stone Spring. 2016/2017 is shaping up to be a great school year. Check this webpage often to see what we are learning!
This Nine Weeks...
Reading - Students are being assessed to determine working at their instructional and independent reading levels. They will soon be placed in small groups to work fluency, accuracy and comprehension skills.
Writing - We are beginning to draw and label pictures in Kindergarten. Second graders are writing stories, letters, and simple explanations. In the higher grades, we are concentrating on writing paragraphs and longer pieces of fiction and nonfiction.
Math - Every day our students practice important math skills during calendar. Each grade level is working on SOLs specific to that grade.
Stone Spring Mission Statement
The Stone Spring Elementary School family will partner with each home and the school community to provide a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment for all students. We will meet each student’s learning needs as we inspire them to reach their full potential. We value and celebrate the diversity that each child brings to our school.
Celebrating Diversity Through Learning
As with all material found on the Internet, teachers and parents should be very careful in allowing students to explore these sites unless direct supervision is provided. Harrisonburg City Public Schools is not responsible for the content of various links beyond the initial levels of each site.
