All About Miss M!

Hi!  My name is Megan Mlinarchik and I am excited to be starting my third year teaching at Keister this school year.  I love Keister and believe it is the best school in Harrisonburg and love teaching here!!

I was born in Johnstown, PA, but moved to Timberville, VA when I was 8 years old and have been living in the area ever since.  I graduated from Broadway High School, went to West Virginia University, and graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with my Bachelor's of Science degree in Liberal Arts.  I am certified to teach PreK-6.

While in high school and college, I was on the track team where I did long jump, triple jump, high jump and pole vault.  I was the state champion in the high jump and pole vault 4 times!  At EMU, I continued with track and field and went to the NCAA Championship several times.  I was an NCAA All-American in the pole vault in 2005!  I now currently coach the pole vault at Harrisonburg High School!  Go Blue Streaks!!

In my free time I love to read, play golf, ride my bike and work with the children and youth at my church.  This summer I went on a two week road trip with 3 high schoolers from my church.  We traveled on a bus out to Colorado and back.  There we attended youth conference and stop at so many amazing places along the way.  The picture to the right is us hiking in the Rocky Mountains right before it started hailing!

My favorite thing to do when I am not at school or track practice is to hang out and play with my niece, Evva.  I have 8 nieces and nephews, but 7 of them live out of the state.  I am also a huge fan of apple products, like iPads and iPhones!
