Technology Rocks!

Summer Tech Camp 2011

Teachers will attend tech sessions, learn about new and exciting technologies, and create learning activities that they can use in their classrooms. Rock and roll into the new school year! This year we will focus on the excitement that technology can add to your instruction as well as make learning more engaging and your job easier. Learn technology tips and tricks to turn your technology volume up to 11. Participants will have lots of FUN as they explore how technology can support and enhance instruction. Organize a team or come on your own!
When: August 2-4 , 2011
8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Where: Skyline Middle School
What: Three days of fun and technology!

Spend 3 relaxed days this summer learning how to use technology and develop activities that you can use with your students with time to practice and your friendly ITRTs available for support. As always sessions focus on the use of technology for communication, collaboration, and creativity.

Topics that we may cover include:

  • Interactive Whiteboards - SMARTBoards, Mimios
  • Digital video with Flip camera
  • Great Resources - Thinkfinity, Discovery Education, Google Earth
  • Collaboration Tools such as Google Docs, Edmodo, Visual Ranking
  • Communication Tools such as Glogster, VoiceThread, Tarheel Reader
  • Mobile Learning with iPads and iPods
  • Formative Assessment with Technology - Clickers, Interactive Achievement
  • New and Emerging Technologies
  • Digital Ethics and Citizenship

Requirements:

  • Attend all days
  • Develop a learning activity and use it with your students in the Fall
  • Submit lesson to TEACH Clearinghouse
  • Share your new knowledge with other teachers
  • Have fun
