Overview

In 2003, the Shenandoah Valley Technology Consortium was awarded funding through the NCLB Enhancing Education Through Technology grant.  A key component of the grant project was to develop a way for teachers to demonstrate mastery of the NETS*T standards.  Teachers create an electronic portfolio including evidence, both artifacts and reflections, for each NETS*T standards.  Trained evaluators rate the submission based on rubrics developed by ISTE.  Upon completion, the teacher has compiled a rich portfolio documenting their use of technology for teaching and learning. In 2009, the Consortium was awarded another Enhancing Education Through Technology grant. The grant included updated the system to include the refreshed version of the NETS*T.

Introduction to NETS*T 2008 is an online training tutorial that will introduce you to the National Educational Technology Standards for teachers and discuss how to create an electronic portfolio to demonstrate your mastery of the standards.  You will consider how technology can be used to support instruction and maximize student learning.
