NETS*T Certification

Harrisonburg teachers have the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of the National Educational Technology Standards for Teachers through the Shenandoah Valley Technology Consortium's Enhancing Education Through Technology grant. This is a rigorous process during which teachers build an electronic portfolio of their work. All submissions are reviewed by a trained evaluator. Once teachers complete the process, they receive technology for their classrooms.

Congratulations to our most recently NETS*T certified educators:

Mike Wampole, WES

Certification of the standards is one component of the 5-year, almost $5 million Enhancing Education through Technology grant received by the Shenandoah Valley Technology Consortium.  All teachers in the 20 divisions that are part of the SVTC are eligible to participate in the process.  Teachers must complete an electronic portfolio containing evidence such as lesson plans of their mastery of the standards.  Once teachers have completed certification, they receive technology equipment to support instruction in their classes.  For more information about the grant or NETS*T certification, visit the web site at http://svtc-edtech.org.
