My name is Gary Painter, and this is my fourth year as Smithland's principal. I have been a principal in Harrisonburg for 13 years. I am thrilled and honored to be part of such a dynamic and caring community!
At Smithland, we are committed to providing an enriching and academically rigorous program. Opportunities for art, music, and physical education are priorities for all students. Our school and PTO work well together to make great things happen for children. Our students learn to take responsibility for their roles as individual learners, as well as their roles as valuable members of our community.
