Welcome to Reading at Spotswood!

We want our students to be lifelong readers, thinkers, and writers. I encourage everyone to read! Pick up a newspaper, magazine, or book, and be informed or enjoy the entertainment.

"Reading aloud with children is known to be the single most important activity for building the knowledge and skills they will eventually require for learning to read."

" Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.”  Sir Richard Steele

"So please, oh PLEASE, we beg, we pray, Go throw your TV set away, And in its place you can install, A lovely bookshelf on the wall."
