8th Grade Boys and Girls Basketball
Mandatory Meeting for Students: Thursday, October 27th during lunch in the health rooms. You must sign up on these dates. Coaches will be checking grades and behavior records.
Tryouts: Thursday, November 17th. Friday, November 18th. Monday, November 21st. 3-5 PM each day. You must have a physical on the first day to tryout.
Students will be evaluated on fundamental skills, game play, effort, and attitude.
Games: Tuesdays and Thursdays starting on December 13th. No games over winter break.
Parent Meeting for Students who make the team will be on Thursday, December 1st at 5:15 PM.
The 8th grade basketball teams are focused on building fundamental skills and understanding the basics of a team game. The basketball teams play ten games against city and county schools. The season ends up with a Saturday tournament on February 11th. Because of time limits and limited gym space only 10-12 players are on each basketball team. The 8th grade basketball team is for students in 8th grade. See the calendar for more dates.
