It's so easy for students to get 'spring fever' and slack off during the last 9 weeks of the school year. Please check in with your students often to ensure that they are keeping up with their homework and reading every night. You can check student grades in Powerschool using Parent Portal. If you aren't sure how, call the school and ask to speak with a guidance counselor.
Opportunities for Learning
Our daily schedule includes the following.
1st period: Read, Talk, Write (with Library on Wednesdays)
Please check out our blogs HERE. The students finished Out of My Mind by Sharon Draper and Smells Like Dog by Suzanne Selfors. Now we are reading Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick. You can pick up your own copy, read along with us, and make comments on the students' blogs as we read. We'd love your input!
2nd period: Language Arts
3rd and 4th period: Electives
5th period: Science 7 and 8
Go to Mr. Youngdahl's website for more information on Science 7.
6th period: Math 7 and 8

7th Period: US History II and Civics 8
As with all material found on the Internet, teachers and parents should be very careful in allowing students to explore these sites unless direct supervision is provided. Harrisonburg City Public Schools is not responsible for the content of various links beyond the initial levels of each site.
