Math Apps to Try

Numbers Logic Puzzle - a game of making 10 in which players swipe adjacent tiles to make sums of 10.

Make 10 Plus - a game of making sums - difficulty can be varied by the sum that you are trying to create - this is a nice companion to making sums

Franklin's Friends of 10 - students choose a missing addend to make 10 - addennds are highlighted on a number line.

Master the Math - an app that presents students released SOL items by grade level (based on 2001 SOL, but a fun practice format), students are given 25 questions, the app can be set to show answers immediately or only when the quiz is complete, it can also be set to give up to 15 hints.

Thinking Blocks - an app that lets you practice with bar models

Math Duel - A game for 2 players to practice math facts

Number Flash - Ten Frame flash on the ipad

Bedtime Math - A new story problem each day.  This wonderful site has 3 levels of problems all related to real life events.

Reflex Math - All students in grades 2-8 have a Reflex Math account

Coin Box - a new game by Illuminations that allows students to practice counting coins and make change. - a website that allows you to find personalized on-line practice for your students that is aligned with the VASol and Common Core Standards.
