Welcome to 7th Grade English!

"Many small people, who in many small places, do many small things that can alter the face of the world." - African proverb

Welcome to my website! I LOVE to read & write! My classroom is a place where all students will become readers & writers, no matter their ability. My hope is that everyone who enters my classroom will leave by the end of the year feeling inspired and excited by something they have discovered about themselves or the world through the books they read.

My classroom is a safe, caring space where students are humanized. The following poem sums up my classroom expectations for all students and for myself (see the "expectations" tab for more explanation). We say this poem daily at the start of class:

In Lak'ech

Tu eres mi otro yo/You are my other me

Si te hago daño a ti/If I do harm to you

Me hago daño a mi mismo/I do harm to myself

Si te amo y respeto/If I love and respect you

Me amo y respeto yo/I love and respect myself
